UPDATE, Buea SWR, Cameroon, 21.08.2016………………A lady whose name UPDATE got as Christy Achiri is said have abandoned her new born baby girl, immediately after delivery, in an uncompleted building and then came back for her after five days. The incident occurred in BOMAKA Buea, Southwest Region, Cameroon.
The story goes that, last week, on a bright day, Christy showed up at an orphanage in Buea to present an abandoned baby. Though incidents like these happen often, the officials at the orphanage were not very comfortable with this particular incident as they began questioning the “ good Samaritan”. Because they found it hard to get it around their heads they decided to examine her breast. This curiosity however leads to the discovery that Christy is the biological mother of the baby.

The baby is said to have survived the harsh cold and was not in a very bad shape when she was brought to the orphanage by the mother.
According to some eyewitnesses, Christy leaves in Muea and already has two children. There are still some unanswered questions like whether her already two kids are from the same father and if at all no one knew she was pregnant for no eyebrows were raise for close to one week after delivery.
Even though most people have been shocked with Christy’s act, many have hailed her for her downheartedness and motherly instinct to go back for her abandoned baby and later one look for a caring center for it. In most cases the babies are handed back to the biological mothers to take them home while in rare cases especially when the baby dies, the biological mother are taken to custody to face the arm of the law.
The fate of Christy Achiri and her baby is still to be known by UPDATE.
